On October 18, 1939, Hitler commemorated this medal. This item is unissued and unworn, with the medal wrapped in tissue paper, an original period ribbon 30mm wide, all secured inside an unmarked envelope except for the name on the left hand corner of the envelope's lower reverse corner. The top reverse of the ribbon has a one piece hinge and catch sewn to the ribbon in excellent working condition. The medal's observe depicts a shovel pointing up with a swastika at its centre with two grain stalks pointing in a "V" direction. On the reverse side it says " Für treue Dienste im Reichsarbeitsdienst. Which means "For loyal Service in the Reich Labour Service." | FREISTAAT PREUßEN FEUERWEHREHRENZEICHEN bis 1936 mit Etui- Free State Prussian Fire Brigade Honour Badge, complete with hard case. .900 silver content, 42mm height, 29mm wide, was a Prussian State decoration awarded in December 1933 for meritorious service in the Prussian Fire Brigade. At the bottom of the badge is a swastika followed by the inscription "Für Verdienste um das Feuerlöschwesen" wrapped around the edge of the badge. This says "For Services to the Fire Extinguishing System." The reverse reads "Silber .900 Fein" to one side and the other "Preuss Staatmünze" or Prussian State mint. A rare and early medal embracing National Socialism under the leadership of the Crown Prince, son to the exiled Kaiser Wilhelm II. The case is deluxe with a black outer covering and a push-button opener. The inside is a plush powder blue vellum shown where they badge has laid for more than 70 years. The remainder of the bottom plush covering has faded through the years, changing from the gorgeous powder blue more towards a plush grey bluish colour. Under the lid is a beautiful white silk. The case lid has a golden coloured ribbing motif going all the way around the lid surface in unworn condition. There are no marking on the case anywhere. This is 90% solid silver, making the medal feel very heavy with everlasting patina in unworn Mint Condition.
