310 |  | RAD/wj COMMEMORATIVE BADGE in SILVER, minted in bronze, silver and gold, this series of commemorative Reichsarbeitsdienst Weiblichen badges were awarded to all girls upon their retirement from the youth organisation depending upon their rank at the time of discharge. These badges measured 34 x44 mm, with two variations of the reverse. Finish almost never remained especially in late years when already recycled war metals were used leaving a dark coloured metal versus early zink metal that was practically white. The obverse is completely void of any finish yet the reverse displays a matted silver colour with a magnetic attachment pin. Maker's name is in highlighted letters "J.B.u.Co." Each brooch is serial numbered on the badge's reverse side with a non-magnetic pin assembly and pin assembly cover. The pin-back assembly has been amateurishly repaired with solder at some point in the past. Light wear to the inner rim is noted, otherwise in very nice condition. | $220.00 |
32 |  | DEUTSCHER FRAUENARBEITSDIENST BROSCHE in SILBER - German Women's work service brooch for the RAD or Reichs Worker's Service. This brooch measures 44mm diameter and has had a custom chain and pin attachment assembly attached to the inner edge. Materials used in making the brooch is iron, which over time has brought about rust spots oxidizing through the finish. Serial number is #71993, convex construction with a bar soldered to the base of the reverse with a more superior hinge and "C" catch attached as an assembly. A great deal of wear is not evident, however many small rust spots as a result of the core materials have certainly left a salty result. | $140.00 |

German silver finish, pin-backed on the reverse with a rectangular cap overlay. Maker marked RZM M1/127, ALFRED STÜBBE; Inh. HERBERT TEGGE; BERLIN-WAIDMANNLUST. Yet another variation to the reverse side of the badge. the attachment pin assembly is secured by rectangular pin cap. This technology is very good to keep the pin from un-attaching itself from the badge. Notice it covers the entire length of the base pin. Technologically superior, perhaps with the exception to Frank & Reifs' example shown below. Badge is in excellent condition. It is well documented medals and badges requiring enamel was changed to lacquer beginning in 1944 because of supply shortages. Therefore, this badge is made late war. Additionally, the reverse shows blistering on the finish highly suggesting the core construction is made from zinc. Zinc has an affinity for oxidising finishes. Over-all quality is compromised in this example as compared to item #91. Also observed is the crimping style placing the attachment pin assembly into place. No pin capping is noted in this example. 50 |  | KINDERSCHAR und N.S.F., GAU MÜNCHEN OBB - Kinderschar means "group of children" and N.S.F. are the initials for "Nationalsozialistische" "Frauenschaft" or in other words, Nazi Women's Organisation and "the group of children" in sponsorship with the Munich Gau or political district. The Frauenschaft took leadership roles in teaching and caring for young children under the umbrella of the Nazi district leader in Munich, or Gauleiter. In this role the N.S.F. taught children and mothers how to grow and learn the Nazi way of living. This badge is enamel and finished in gold. Stamped on the attachment plate which holds the pin in place, is the famous maker, Deschler & Sons, München 90. Near Mint Condition. Very rare in this condition. | $270.00 |

The cross in gold was awarded to German mothers who gave 8 or more live births to the German Reichs. Long original 46cm ribbon custom cut for the woman it was awarded to.
