Now a Victor's badge at the local level, hence the bronze finish took a round form with two additional finishes, silver and gold in recognition of higher levels. The Hitler Youth emblem was always encircled by a cog wheel representing the co-sponsorship with the DAF. This 1938 Kreis, retains all of its bronze finish and multi-colour enamel finish. Maker marked on the reverse by G. Brehmer, Markneukirchen. Hinge block, attachment pin and catch all show signs of wear, no repairs. In excellent condition. The beginning class was introduced in 1936 for HJ/DJ members having reached the age of 14 years. The test consisted of five rounds in the prone supported position, five rounds prone unsupported, and five rounds kneeling. Badge maker here is double-ringed RZM M1/77, FÖRSTER & BARTH, PFORZHEIM. This badge is black enameled with silvered shooting rings, silvered crossed rifles and a small HJ emblem, also enameled, no cracks, blemishes or chips. All male members were given a qualification book to record their activities. Qualifications were set to boys and girls depending upon age . The first of these awards was called "Leistungsabzeichen in Iron." This award was made from aluminum and painted black with the inscription and swastika left to its natural metal colour. It was restricted to boys age 15. Following Iron, came bronze and then silver. This award measures 51x30mm and weighs a mere 9 grammes. This award is very rare to acquire, plus its condition is practically stone mint, less very little paint wear to the attachment pin on the reverse. As well, the serial numbers of these awards were sequential with this one being 73,545. Its maker is RZM M1/36, Bury & Leonhard in Hanau am Main.
